Hypnotherapy – Supporting Change in Mansfield & Online
Gentle steps to support positive change
What would you like to feel more able to do? Perhaps you want to approach a situation with more confidence, spend less time caught in self-critical thoughts or explore a habit that no longer feels helpful. You may know what you want to change but feel unsure how to begin. I’m Helen. I offer personalised hypnotherapy, beginning with a conversation about your experiences, what matters to you and what you would like to work towards. Using guided imagery, focused attention and suggestions agreed around your goals, we can explore different ways of responding to the situations you find difficult. You remain in control, and you can ask questions or pause at any point. You don’t need to arrive feeling relaxed or knowing how hypnosis works. I will explain the process and give you time to decide whether this approach feels right for you.

What could change mean for you? Perhaps it is speaking up without spending the evening questioning what you said. Feeling more prepared for a driving test. Or approaching something new without immediately telling yourself you cannot do it. In our work, imagination becomes a way to rehearse possibilities. You might picture yourself handling a familiar challenge with greater steadiness, or draw on a memory of feeling capable to explore the qualities you would like to reconnect with. We can also consider how to take that practice beyond the session, through manageable steps in everyday life. There is room to notice what feels useful, what remains difficult and what needs a different approach.

YOUR JOURNEY
A Calm State of Conscious Rest

You may wonder what hypnosis will feel like. Some people describe a comfortable sense of absorption, rather like becoming immersed in a story. Others notice physical relaxation or a quieter focus. Your experience does not have to feel deep or unusual to count. I will guide you gently, allowing time to settle and inviting you to focus your attention. You don’t have to force your mind to become blank, and it is okay if thoughts come and go. Hypnosis is not sleep. You remain in control and can speak, move, open your eyes or stop whenever you choose. You do not have to accept any suggestion that feels uncomfortable. There is nothing to perform and no particular feeling you need to achieve. We can adjust the pace and approach according to how you feel.
What Hypnotherapy Can Help With
Hypnotherapy can support smoking, weight, phobias (like flying), sleep, anxiety, self-esteem, exams and job confidence. Contact Helen to discuss your challenges and we can go from there. I personalise scripts for your treatment plan so you get the most effective results.
I want to feel less stressed
When your thoughts keep racing, switching off can feel difficult. We can explore what is adding to the pressure and practise relaxation and imagery, with the aim of bringing more breathing space into your day.
I want to get over a fear or phobia
A fear can influence your plans long before you encounter the thing itself. We can discuss how it affects you and whether hypnotherapy is suitable, agreeing manageable steps without rushing you into situations you feel unprepared for.
I want to sleep better
You may spend much of your day bracing yourself, barely noticing the tension you carry. Sessions offer time to pause and explore guided relaxation, without pressure to make your body feel a particular way.
I want to feel like myself again
Your body and mind work together. When one feels better, the other does too. This quiet time helps you fill up your energy and feel balanced and happy inside once more.
I want better self-esteem
Perhaps you notice your mistakes more readily than your strengths. We can explore self-critical thoughts and use personalised imagery to practise a kinder, more encouraging way of relating to yourself.
I want to feel more comfortable in my body
You may spend much of your day bracing yourself, barely noticing the tension you carry. Sessions offer time to pause and explore guided relaxation, without pressure to make your body feel a particular way.
I want to pass a test or do well at work
Nerves can make it difficult to show what you know. Through guided mental rehearsal, we can practise approaching an exam, driving test, interview or presentation with your attention on the task and the preparation you have done.
